Nowadays, after advances in the field’s technology, we have many different heating options to choose from. While you should absolutely discuss them all over with your contractor, we’ve gone over some of the benefits of one type here: the heat pump.

Temperature Control:

Heat pumps have great temperature control. While most people like temperatures that fall between 20-23 degrees Celsius, even outliers can have their needs met.

Unlike gas furnaces, neither you nor your housemates can get burned with heat pump systems. They can safely stay on even when you sleep.

Improved Air Quality:

Since they don’t add any pollutants into the air, your air quality will stay pure. They also circulate the air in your home through their filters, so any contaminants will get cleaned out eventually.

Energy Efficiency:

Of all electric based heaters, heat pumps provide the most efficient heating. They can prove up to 4 times as efficient as gas heaters.

If these benefits have piqued your curiosity, why not give H & F HVAC a call today? We offer heat pump installation alongside many other services. To find out more about them, don’t hesitate to give us a call at (703) 642-6278 or (301) 279-7618.

Some things in life we’ve become so accustomed to that we just take them for granted; this includes our refrigerators. However, we do notice pretty fast when they stop working. Since they cost so much, it proves prudent to do everything that we can to prolong the life of our refrigerators. To that end, we’ve put together some helpful maintenance tips to make it easier.

Door Seals:

You need to ensure your door seals keep the air out or else your refrigerator will have to work overtime. You should wipe them down twice a year to get rid of any food build up. After that, try the “dollar bill test”; close a dollar bill in the door – if it falls out, your seal has gotten compromised.

You want to keep your fridge at a certain temperature: anywhere from 37-40 degrees F.

Keep It Full:

Your refrigerator needs to have food (or other materials) in it to work properly. If you don’t have enough food to fill it up, just put in a couple jugs filled with water.

If you keep these in mind, your refrigerator will live a long and healthy life. Should you find that you require repairs, H & F HVAC can help. To find out more, you can speak with one of our qualified representatives at (703) 642-6278 or (301) 279-7618.
